WYCOMBE boss Tony Adams has put his studies on hold to fully focus on steering his new club clear of relegation.
The former England skipper, who takes charge of Wanderers for the first time against Brentford today, has spent the last 18 months studying for a sports science degree at Brunel University.
But he has already realised he cannot find time to complete his course work while trying to get the Chairboys out of trouble.
Adams said: "It's going to be too much. There's a big, big job here and I'm not going to be able to do three modules a year as well. I've put it on hold." However, Adams is still reading plenty at the office as he bids to establish himself as a manager.
He said: "I've got a few books in there, Cloughie's, Arsene Wenger's, Phil Jackson (Chicago Bulls)...and Clive Woodward is doing a good job with a different shaped ball. I think you can learn from everybody.
"I've said goodbye to the playing days but it is great to be back in football. This is the next best thing."
Trying to bring in players despite a shoestring budget is one job which is taking up plenty of his time in the early days.
He said: "I've been spoilt at Arsenal. I'm very aware of the situation here. There's not £10million, not even 10p at the moment.
"And that's why I'm down here. It was always my intention to learn it here. It's a different style of management here and I'm fully aware of that.
"It's been fantastic. I am loving every minute. It's all new but the training's been first class. The guys have really responded.''
