Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be forced to recall defender Moritz Volz from Fulham.
The impending four-game suspension of Lauren means that Wenger will have to re-shuffle for forthcoming games.
If Volz returns from his loan spell then he would slot straight into the right-back slot vacated.
The other option would be to move Kolo Toure to full-back, with Pascal Cygan coming in to the centre, or put the promising Justin Hoyte on the right.
"I don't want to take his [Volz] experience there away if someone here can do the job, although it's difficult to put Kolo out there as he looks to be so strong in the centre."
Lauren's ban, which starts with next weekend's Premiership fixture at Birmingham, came as result of his involvement in the fracas at Old Trafford last month.
