Giovanni van Bronckhorst has admitted he is very happy at Barcelona and would like to extend his stay with the Catalan club if possible.
The Arsenal star moved to Spain on a season-long loan deal and has established himself as a first-team regular under boss Frank Rijkaard.
The Dutch international was quoted last week as saying he wanted to return to the Gunners when his spell in Catalunya came to an end to try and establish himself at Highbury, but he now admits he could be tempted by an extended stay at Camp Nou.
"I am loaned here for a year and then I have a contract with Arsenal," stated the former Rangers star.
"My future is insecure because it would be better to have a contract with Barca for four or five seasons and to be able to have my head here as that's something I can't do at the moment.
"My future is a complete uncertainty. I left Arsenal because I wasn't playing enough.
"If next year there is a chance to stay here, I will stay, but it is something that I will not decide alone.
"Barca have to want to keep me, and Arsenal either take me back or let me leave."
Van Bronckhorst also went on to give a glowing reference to old Arsenal team-mate, and alledged Barca target Thierry Henry, but admitted he was sceptical that the Frenchman would quit North London for Spain.
"He (Henry) would get into any team. He is one of the best players I have ever played with.
"Technical, quick, unpredictable, he is a player that anyone would like to have in their team.
"I'm not sure he would end up coming here because he is very happy in London, but in football you never know."
