Ljungberg: Injury worryFredrik Ljungberg has revealed that he missed the Swedish Football Gala on Monday night as he is receiving intensive treatment on his injured foot. The Arsenal star was due to pick up the midfielder of the year award, but was unable to attend as he had to stay behind in London to continue his treatment programme. "I am proud for the prize and proud of my year," said Ljungberg. The midfielder faces a race against time to be fit for Arsenal's Premiership clash with Birmingham and the crucial UEFA Champions League encounter with Internazionale the following week. "I have had an injection in the foot and there was no alternative," he added. "To get fit I need to rest for five to eight days." Gunners chief Arsene Wenger will hope his Swedish star will shake off the problem, as defeat in Italy would likely end Arsenal's interest in the Champions League.
