Dear Arsenal supporter,
It was a great win for us at the weekend. The start of the game at Leeds was a little bit like the week before at Charlton with them coming on to us.
But after that every time we broke in the first half we nearly scored. When we won the ball we used it quickly to get forward and catch them on the break. We looked dangerous all the time.
After two goals from Thierry Henry and another from Robert Pires, it was difficult to keep the momentum going. The fourth goal at the start of the second half from Gilberto killed the game off completely.
Nonetheless, I felt that Leeds had a very positive attitude. They never gave up and the two young boys they brought on in the second half - James Milner and Aaron Hilton - did very well.
Leeds tried for 90 minutes and could have scored more than once, but then we had a number of chances to add to our lead in the last 10 minutes when Jeremie Aliadiere and Thierry went close.
Thierry was excellent again. He had the power to get forward every time and he took his chances very well. He played with pace and did not have to dig deep physically.
He was not under pressure to defend too much. He was always waiting for the opportunity to get forward. When we play in our half we know we can find him and he will be dangerous going forward.
Of course, he could have had a hat-trick but his goalbound shot hit Ray Parlour in the second half. Ray tried to get out of the way but he was a bit like a rabbit on the road.
Dennis Bergkamp started up front too and I thought he did very well alongside Thierry. Dennis has been out for nearly a month and he is slowly coming back.
Thanks for your support.
