Wycombe are expected to name Tony Adams as their new manager on Tuesday. The 37-year-old former Arsenal and England defender will make his first step into management. Adams, who hung up his boots in the summer of 2002 after over 18 years at Highbury, will take over from caretaker-boss John Gorman. Gorman has been looking after the side, who are propping up the Division Two table, since Lawrie Sanchez was sacked at the end of September. Adams has sought the advice of former Wycombe manager Martin O'Neill, who is now in charge of Celtic. Adams' adviser Steve Kutner has confirmed the ex-England captain has been approached about the vacancy. Kutner told the Daily Mail: "Tony has been impressed by the people at Wycombe and had a chat with Martin O'Neill, who was very encouraging about the club. "We have been approached by a few clubs who have been interested in making Tony manager - but the decision on where he starts his coaching career is one he is taking very seriously."
