By Christopher Davies (Filed: 28/10/2003) Five Arsenal players - Martin Keown, Lauren, Patrick Vieira, Ashley Cole and Ray Parlour - will face a Football Association disciplinary commission on Thursday in the wake of the fracas after the Premiership match against Manchester United on September 21. Keown and Lauren were charged with violent behaviour, Vieira, Cole and Parlour with improper conduct and all have pleaded guilty, as did Arsenal to a charge of failing to control their players. A charge against Jens Lehmann was dropped but the goalkeeper was warned as to his future behaviour. Violent behaviour tends to carry a three-game ban and Vieira could also be suspended, given the Arsenal captain's poor disciplinary record over the past five years. However, with Keown and Vieira out injured Arsenal are likely, in effect, to have only Lauren suspended, with the defender probably missing Saturday's game at Leeds, the visit of Tottenham (Nov 8) and the away match at Birmingham (Nov 22). Cole and Parlour are facing fines while the penalty imposed on Arsenal could be as much as £200,000. United's Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo have no date fixed to challenge their charges of improper conduct.
