Sol Campbell has hit back at critics who claim Arsenal are a one-man band when it comes to scoring goals and insists that the rest of the squad will soon start chipping in with their share.
Prolific Frenchman Thierry Henry has scored eight of the 19 goals The Gunners have netted in The Premiership but with Sylvain Wiltord the only other Arsenal striker to also find the net this term, the critics say Arsenal have become too dependent on Henry.
The ex-Monaco man has started every game for the Highbury outfit this season but England stopper Campbell insists it is only a matter of time before the rest of the side get in on the act.
"Sometimes you have that in a season," said the former Tottenham defender.
"Thierry Henry is a goalscorer and that means we're going to rely on him.
"There have been some other scorers, though, and there are plenty of games still to go.
"Thierry is a top player, the centre forward and wants to score all the time. But, as the season goes on, I'm sure more players will chip in with a few for us."
Campbell is one player who has registered on the scoresheet with his goal against Aston Villa and he was also quick to defend Arsenal's faltering start in their UEFA Champions League campaign, saying he would rather The Gunners built up momentum rather than peak too soon and run out of steam as they did towards the tail-end of last season.
Arsene Wenger's men are currently top of The Premiership but have been unable to take that form into Europe and Campbell added: "It's a good sign if you're not firing on all cylinders while still picking up wins and draws.
"It's only October and, if you're playing your best football now, there's a danger you can run out of steam when it matters.
"I much prefer to start okay, then build a real head of steam coming into the last 10 games.
"That's when it really counts if you can produce it. It's what we did when we won the double two years ago."
