A blast has hit a UN peacekeeping patrol south of the Lebanese capital of Beirut, security officials and witnesses have said. At least two people in a UN vehicle were wounded in the explosion, according to reports. The blast occurred on a road between the towns of Rmaileh and Sidon, witnesses said. The blast was caused by a roadside bomb, injuring two Irish peacekeepers, officials said. Earlier reports had said the injured peacekeepers were Spanish. The blast was the third attack on the UN peacekeeping operation (Unifil) since it was expanded to more than 13,000 troops following the 2006 war between Israel and the Lebanese political and militant movement Hezbollah. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7177007.stm
