Canadian Press Tuesday, February 17, 2004 PALERMO, Sicily (AP) - Pavel Nedved plans to play two more seasons and then probably retire. The 31-year-old Juventus midfielder confirmed his plans Tuesday on the eve of his Czech Republic squad's friendly against Italy in the Sicilian capital. "Right now, that's what I'm thinking, to stay with Juve until 2006 and then retire," Nedved said. "When the day comes, I'll see." Nedved's contributions were a key factor in Juventus' back-to-back Serie A titles the past two seasons and the club sorely missed him when he was disqualified from the Champions League final that the club lost to AC Milan on penalties last May. "My wife made me promise that in the season when I'm 32 years old I stop," he said. "And I promised. Although I know that I'll miss it and, who knows, it will probably be my wife to tell me 'go back and play.' So, we'll see." Nedved's contract with Juventus lasts through the 2005-06 season and he said he would like to finish his career with the Turin powerhouse. Although when asked if there was anywhere else he had ever dreamed of playing, the playmaker responded: "The English league has always fascinated me, and then there is Japan, they love me a lot there." In December, Nedved won the Golden Ball award as Europe's best player. www.canada.com/sports/soccer/story.html?id=FA05BDFA-E1DF-4D46-9F85-681DB6443241
