Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi will put pen to paper on a new contract with the Italian giants. The international, who is currently tied to the side until 2005, has agreed to stay with the outfit until 2008. The player’s agent, Alessandro Moggi, met with Juve’s Antonio Giraudo yesterday where an understanding was reached. It is believed that the 29-year-old will accept a cut in salary in return for a new deal with the Delle Alpi side. Tacchinardi will now earn around £1.2m a year instead of the £1.4m he was previously netting. Even if his salary may increase with additional bonus-related payments. The former Atalanta player was signed in 1994 as a 20-year-old and has been a loyal servant ever since.
