Inter Milan, whose challenge for the Serie A title has faltered in recent weeks following back-to-back defeats, has restored some pride by easing into the last four of the Italian Cup.
Inter, whose embarrassing home defeat against lowly Empoli on Sunday led to Massimo Moratti stepping down as club president, defeated Udinese 3-1 in an often fractious quarter-final second leg to reach the semis after the away leg had finished goalless.
Inter will now play Juventus in the last four. Juve secured their place after edging Perugia 1-0 in Turin to complete a 3-1 aggregate win.
