Fabrizio Miccoli scored against his former club as Juventus set a semi-final date with old rivals Inter.
The Bianconeri were already confident of reaching the next stage thanks to their 2-1 first leg victory at the Stadio Renato Curi, so many top stars were again rested.
Fabrizio Miccoli was facing his former club and tried to break the deadlock with several hopeful long-range efforts.
Perugia went even closer when new signing Christian Manfredini’s angled drive forced Antonio Chimenti to clear with his foot.
Alessio Tacchinardi’s relatively central effort was comfortably saved, but it wasn’t easy to play on a frozen pitch in Turin.
It was Miccoli who eventually hit the back of the net against his former teammates just before half-time, but he refused to celebrate as a sign of respect.
The Italian international used his pace to sprint into the box and place a precise angled drive past the goalkeeper.
Miccoli nearly added to his tally soon after, but this time Stefano Pardini was equal to his curling free kick.
There was controversy after the break as Perugia claimed Giandomenico’s cross was intercepted by a Nicola Legrottaglie handling offence, but the referee waved away penalty appeals.
On 67 minutes Serse Cosmi’s ire was further raised by another handball when Gianluca Pessotto blocked Ze Maria’s centre.
Miccoli set up Marco Di Vaio for a good scoring opportunity late on and Pardini parried his shot with some difficulty.
