Juventus say they are not planning to sell David Trezeguet and replace him with Lazio’s Bernardo Corradi. "If Corradi joined Juventus then he would be Trezeguet’s substitute," director general Luciano Moggi told an Italian radio show today. "The Lazio man is an excellent player but it would be wrong to say that we need him as we already have Trezeguet. They can’t play together." Speculation has suggested that the former Chievo man was wanted as contract negotiations with the Frenchman continue. Trez is only tied to the club until 2005 and talks regarding an extension have yet to reach a conclusion. Yet Moggi insists that the former Monaco man will remain at the Delle Alpi. "I don’t think there are many problems with regard to his new deal," he added. Moggi also commented on the Edgar Davids situation. He was released to Barca last week as he only had six months left on his Juve deal. "His cycle with us was over," added the Bianconeri official. "That is why we didn’t offer him a new contract. "But I’m certain that the Dutchman will do well at Barca and I doubt that he will return to Italy." Davids is only on loan with the Spaniards with reports stating that a move to Inter or Roma will occur in the summer.
