It is suggested that Juventus are planning a massive swap deal with Parma, starting with the January arrival of Matteo Ferrari. Newspapers maintain that Juve are prepared to take full advantage of the financial crisis at the Stadio Tardini. It’s believed that targets for next season are winger Marco Marchionni, hitman Alberto Gilardino and defender Daniele Bonera. The offer for this trio of former Under-21 internationals is a hat-trick of Juve’s own stars such as Nicola Legrottaglie, Mauro Camoranesi and Enzo Maresca. However, the two clubs have immediate problems that must be resolved and the Bianconeri are in search of a reliable young central defender. The Italian press insists that Director General Luciano Moggi has already made a £2.4m offer for Ferrari to complete a January switch. Parma are holding firm on their 24-year-old Italian international and expect no less than £4m for the youngster.
