Juventus insist that Edgar Davids is being overlooked for the first team as a result of his form. The Dutchman has rarely featured this season, leading many to speculate that his omission from the side is because his contract expires at the end of the season. " Davids didn’t travel to Lecce because he was ill," stated Moggi. "There was no other reason for his absence. "Juventus are not a club that ‘punishes’ players who have contractual problems by leaving them out of the team. "It’s up to Marcello Lippi to decide who will play. Davids is simply struggling with form at the moment. When that improves then he will be used again." Davids will quit Turin in the summer, a decision which Moggi maintains was taken by both parties. "He wanted to go and we didn’t want to extend his contract," insisted Moggi. "From January 1, he will be free to talk to anyone." Reports suggest that Roma and Inter are leading the chase for the 31-year-old. Where does Moggi think he will go? "I have absolutely no idea," he answered. "That is a problem that concerns only the player from now on."
