home.skysports.comby Simon Fudge David Beckham thinks Liverpool striker Peter Crouch gives England a different option in attack. The much-travelled hit-man looks to replace Wayne Rooney in Sven Goran Eriksson's starting XI, as England face Austria and Poland in two crucial World Cup qualifiers at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old impressed the England head coach during their summer tour of the United States and his recall to the squad may see him earn a competitive start against the Austrians on Saturday. England captain Beckham believes Crouch is a fine aerial target and backs the idea of him partnering Newcastle United hit-man Michael Owen in England's frontline. "Peter is someone to aim for with the crosses!" Beckham said. "It gives you an extra option when you've got someone like that. "Now Crouch is at a big team like Liverpool, he's getting experience in some big games." The Real Madrid star added that England need to aim for two wins against the Austrians and Group Six leaders Poland and claim their place in the finals in Germany next summer. "Some people are saying that if we win the first game against Austria that is enough, but it is not enough," he added. "Poland are top but we want to go and win the group and make sure we qualify straight away. "We are better than the other teams in the group, so we should be all right. "It's just a case of playing hard and playing well and we need to do that."
