www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,7-1133572,00.html England coach Brian Kidd could miss this summer's European Championship after undergoing surgery for prostrate cancer. The former Blackburn Rovers manager is part of Sven Goran Eriksson's coaching staff with the national team and was due to assist the Swede in Portugal. Kidd joined the coaching team in January last year to help fill the void left by Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren's exit from the national team. The People newspaper claims that Kidd is now facing a race against time to be fit to be able to travel to Portugal following the operation. A Football Association spokesman confirmed to the People: "We are aware that Brian has undergone a serious operation. We all look forward to him making a speedy recovery." Kidd is highly-regarded in English football having played a major role in the development of several Manchester United stars during his time at Old Trafford as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson.
