Leeds United's teenage starlet James Milner has earned his first England Under-21 call-up for Tuesday's friendly away to Sweden Under-21's.
The 18-year-old's impressive displays in a wide midfield role for The Whites this season has attracted Young Lions boss David Platt to include Milner for the match in Kristianstad.
Milner earmarked to be part of the England Under-20 squad for last year's World Youth Championships in the United Arab Emirates before being withdrawn at the 11th hour after Leeds boss Eddie Gray wanted him to stay to help the Elland Road side's fight for Premiership survival.
Milner joins another first time call-up in Manchester United midfielder David Jones.
Jones skippered the young Red Devils to FA Youth Cup success last term.
Ipswich's Darren Bent is given another opportunity while Blackburn Rovers striker Jonathan Stead and on-loan Charlton Athletic hit-man Carlton Cole are also in the squad.
