England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson tells TheFA.com that he has a breadth of defensive options to choose from ahead of Euro 2004. With Rio Ferdinand unavailable for Euro 2004, Sven has told us that he is still very much considering his defensive options. He said: "I believe that in Rio Ferdinand's absence, Sol Campbell becomes even more important for us. But I do not have a choice of just two players to play with him. "I think we have three players in Jonathan Woodgate, Gareth Southgate and John Terry who are the ones closest to the place next to Campbell. John Terry could be the man to partner Sol Campbell for England at Euro 2004...."But we also have young players like Ledley King, Zat Knight and Anthony Gardner. They come into the equation too. "I have 95 per cent of my team already in my mind. Naming my first 11, I could do it in 10 minutes. Sven names his squad for next Wednesday's friendly against Sweden this Saturday before announcing his final 23-man squad for the championships on 17 May. www.thefa.com/England/SeniorTeam/NewsAndFeatures/Postings/2004/03/Sven_TerrySouthgate.htm
