Juventus striker David Trezeguet fears that France’s Euro 2004 progress may be more difficult than many are predicting. The Euro 2000 winners are favourites to qualify from Group B, along with England, but the striker is failing to dismiss Croatia and Switzerland. “They are three opponents that will be very tough to face,” said Trezeguet, who scored the Golden Goal winner against Italy in the last tournament. “Playing England will please many of my teammates who play in the Premier League but they are a strong side.” “They have some very good individuals in their team. They have a great Coach and didn’t win their qualifying group by chance.” Trezeguet is set to come up against a familiar face when France take on Croatia – who qualified for the event via the play-offs. “I’ll be up against my teammate Igor Tudor,” he continued. “We beat them in the semi-finals of France 98 but that means nothing. They’ve completely changed since then.” “As for Switzerland, we played them in a friendly recently and won but we know it won’t be so easy next summer.” “The Swiss are always a very organised side and have been impressive on their march to Portugal.”
