ENGLAND boss Sven Goran Eriksson last night agreed to discuss his future with the FA.
He will hold clear-the-air talks after the friendly against Portugal next week.
SunSport has been leading the campaign for the Swede to come clean over his plans after we exclusively revealed on Saturday he had admitted he could manage Chelsea.
Now it seems he has finally bowed to the pressure.
His existing contract runs until 2006. But, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich waiting in the wings with a
£5million-a-year deal, the FA have offered an extension which will take him through to 2008.
Now Eriksson, 56, has agreed to meet with FA chiefs — though it is still unclear if he will put pen to paper on the £4m-a-year extension.
Trevor Brooking, the FA’s director of football development, said last night: “The focus is on the next game in Portugal. Let’s get it out of the way and see where we are.”
