Sven Goran Eriksson has admitted he could be lured away from his position as England coach if Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich came calling. The Swede has stressed he has not received an offer to coach Chelsea, but says he would have to give any approach due consideration. Eriksson has been persistently linked with the Stamford Bridge hot-seat, having met Abramovich on a number of occasions, but he claims a job offer was never discussed. "There has been no offer [from Chelsea] but if there was one I would have to sit down and think about it," Eriksson told the Cambridge Union. "If anyone made me a job offer I would have to consider it." Eriksson claims he will look to clarify his future at some point in February, as he has a contract extension offer from The FA to mull over. "There has been an offer to stay with The FA which we will discuss in February," he added. Eriksson is contracted to lead England until the World Cup Finals in 2006, but he was not ready to pin his shirt to the mast when asked to comment on his long term future. When the Swede was asked if he would like to lead England out at the new Wembley, he replied: "I would love to do that, but I don't know whether I will still be England coach in 2006."
