The Football Association have been fined £4,500 for the tunnel bust up at half time of England's Euro 2004 qualification clash with Turkey in Istanbul.
The countries' respective Football Associations were charged with improper conduct, after the melee that took place in the tunnel at half time of the 0-0 draw.
Players from both sides clashed after an incident-packed first half had seen former Aston Villa defender Alpay goad England captain David Beckham on a number of occasions.
The tunnel bust up was caught on camera, with referee Pierluigi Collina having to restore calm before the second half could start.
Uefa decided not to charge any of the individuals, choosing to hit the two Football Associations with the failure to control their players.
A statement issued by Uefa read: "Uefa’s Control and Disciplinary Body today decided to impose a fine of 30’000 CHF (£13,500) on the Turkish FA for the lack of order in the stadium, including throwing of missiles as well as for the improper conduct of some of its players and one security staff member during incidents in the tunnel at the Turkey versus England Uefa Euro2004 qualifier on 11th October.
"The English FA was fined 10’000 CHF (£4,500) for the improper conduct of some of its players in the tunnel.
"The Uefa Control and Disciplinary Body reviewed video evidence, the match reports from both the referee and the delegate, together with statements received from both Football Associations.
"In reaching its decision, the Control and Disciplinary Body took into account, in particular, the fact that although the referee had seen the incident in the tunnel among the players concerned, he chose not to take any disciplinary measures on the spot, nor to mention any individuals in his match report."
Europe's governing body will hope the incident can now be forgotten after hitting the two countries with the fines.
England coach Sven Goran Eriksson can now turn his attention to masterminding The Three Lions' Euro 2004 campaign, following the 0-0 draw in Turkey.
