QUARTER-FINAL FIRST LEG
Thursday 7 April, 1945 BST
St James' Park, Newcastle
Newcastle boss Graeme Souness has included Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer in his squad for the Uefa Cup quarter-final against Sporting Lisbon.
Patrick Kluivert is a definite non-starter and Nicky Butt is a doubt.
In defence Celestine Babayaro and Titus Bramble are still recovering from injury and Jean-Alain Boumsong is cup- tied so Robbie Elliott could figure.
Sporting will be without on-loan Magpies midfielder Hugo Viana while his replacement Miguel Custodio is injured.
Viana is not allowed to play in either leg of the last-eight tie as part of the terms of his loan deal between the clubs.
Also watching from the wings will be defender Hugo Manuel and Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla, who are both injured.
Sporting, like Newcastle in the aftermath of the Bowyer-Dyer brawl against Aston Villa, have disciplinary problems of their own.
Striker Sa Pinto and defender Rui Jorge have been hit by 12-day domestic suspensions following allegations the former punched Boavista director Joao Freitas in the tunnel at half-time during their weekend match.
The incident is being blamed for sparking a free-for-all as the two teams left the pitch, which the Portuguese Football Federation is currently investigating.
The two Sporting men, as well as Boavista keeper William, have been suspended with the possibility of a two-year ban if they are convicted of violent conduct and given the maximum punishment.

Newcastle (from):
Given, Harper, Carr, Hughes, Elliott, O'Brien, Taylor, Ramage, Dyer, Bowyer, Robert, Butt, Faye, Jenas, Milner, N'Zogbia, Ambrose, Shearer, Ameobi.
