Holland gained revenge for their defeat to the Czech Republic in Euro 2004 with a hard-fought 2-0 win.
Two goals from Pierre Van Hooijdonk, one in each half, were enough to see off the Czechs in Amsterdam.
Romania stayed at the top of the group with a 100% record after breezing to a 5-1 victory over lowly Andorra.
Florin Cernat put Romania on their way in the first minute, and two goals each from Daniel Pancu and Marius Niculae completed the job, although Marc Pujol's penalty gave Andorra a consolation goal.
Finland were not stretched as they secured a 2-0 win over Armenia, with the goals coming from Birmingham's Mikael Forssell and Aleksei Eremenko Jr.

Latvia emerged as 4-3 winners with Andrejs Prohorenkovs knocking in the winner on 67 minutes.

Clinton Morrison gave the Republic of Ireland a splendid start against Switzerland with his second goal in two matches after just eight minutes.
But the Swiss responded through Hakan Yakin on 17 minutes in a fiery match.
Israel, who held France to a 0-0 draw last week, came from behind to beat Cyprus 2-1 with Walid Badir scoring the winner on 74 minutes.

Scotland huffed and puffed but could not find a goal as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Slovenia.
Italy did enough to take their second straight win and top the group with six points after a 1-0 victory against Moldova.
The recalled Alessandro Del Piero got the goal, controlling Alberto Gilardino's pass before firing a low drive into the bottom corner.
Norway took the lead in the first half when Vidar Riseth blasted in from close range before Belarus striker Vitaly Kutuzov nodded in from a corner to equalise in the 78th minute.

England got their World Cup qualification campaign back on track with a 2-1 win over Poland.
In his first competitive start for England, Jermain Defoe scored a superb opener but Sven-Goran Eriksson's side surrendered the lead early in the second half and needed an own goal from Arkadiusz Glowacki to wrap up the win.
Report: Wales 2-2 Northern Ireland
"Eventful" does not do justice to Wales' 2-2 draw with Northern Ireland at the Millennium Stadium.
Robbie Savage and Michael Hughes were sent off after a first-half flare-up, Northern Ireland went 2-0 up with goals from Jeff Whitley and David Healey before Healey was sensationally sent off for his goal celebrations.
And Wales fought back with goals from John Hartson and Robert Earnshaw.
In the group's other match, Austria gained a 2-0 win over Azerbaijan.
