MATCH STATS
Head-to-heads
Portugal and Holland have met each other on eight previous occasions with the Portuguese winning four times and the Dutch just once.
The sole win for the Dutch came in one of the four competitive matches between the two - a 1-0 victory in European Championship qualification in October 1991.
The Portuguese won the other match in that qualification series, also by 1-0.
The other two competitive matches were in qualification for the 2002 World Cup. The Dutch lost the home fixture 2-0 in October 2000 but drew the away match 2-2.
The Dutch had had a 2-0 lead until Pauleta scored in the 84th minute. Figo levelled the scores with a 90th minute penalty.
The two Dutch goals that evening were scored by Jerrel Hasselbaink and Patrick Kluivert.
The Portuguese starting line-up that night is likely to provide just three players in this week's starting line-up - Costinha, Figo and perhaps, Pauleta.
For the Dutch, Van der Sar, Reiziger, Stam, Cocu and Davids began that match and are likely to start in the semi-final.
The two nations also met just over a year ago, in a friendly in April 2003 which ended 1-1. Kluivert opened the scoring and Simão equalised in the second half.
Van der Sar, Van der Meyde, Cocu and Davids all started that match and are likely to start on Wednesday. Ricardo, Figo, Maniche, Miguel, Simão and Pauleta all started for the Portuguese.
Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder both made their international debuts for Holland in that match.
Player facts - Portugal
Deco, Ricardo Carvalho and Costinha will be suspended from a possible final if they receive a yellow card in this match.
If Luís Figo plays against the Dutch and Fernando Couto does not, Figo will equal Couto's Portuguese record of 109 caps.
Luís Figo is joint second on the all-time list of most assists (five) at the European Championship. Karel Poborský of the Czech Republic is one assist ahead of Figo.
Figo has played in 12 European Championship matches and will enter the top ten in the competition if he plays in his 13th. He is already the record holder for Portugal, one match ahead of current team mates Fernando Couto and Rui Costa.
Portugal's striker Nuno Gomes scored his fifth career goal at the European Championships against Spain. Only three players have scored more European Championship goals - Michel Platini (nine), Alan Shearer (seven) and Patrick Kluivert (six).
Cristiano Ronaldo is the fourth youngest goal scorer ever at a European Championship.
Both of Rui Costa's goals have come as a substitute. He is one of only six players to have scored more than one European Championship goal as a substitute. The record holder is Dieter Müller who scored three times as a substitute at the 1976 European Championship, all in the same match.
Maniche, Jorge Andrade and Ricardo are the only Portuguese players to have played every minute of their country's Euro 2004 matches.
The two reserve goalkeepers, Beto and Tiago are the only members of the Portuguese squad who have yet to see some action at Euro 2004.
Luís Figo is top scorer in the Portugal squad present at Euro 2004 with 31 goals. Figo is second on Portugal's all-time top scorers list, trailing leader Eusebio by 10 goals.
Nuno Gomes will celebrate his 28th birthday on the day after the Euro 2004 final.

Van Nistelrooy is now in tenth position on the Dutch all-time top scorers list with 18 goals. He needs two more to overtake Leen Vente in ninth position. Patrick Kluivert tops this list with 40.
Edwin van der Sar and Phillip Cocu will equal Dennis Bergkamp's Dutch record of 13 European Championship matches if they play against Portugal.
The three most experienced Dutch players ever are all present at Euro 2004 - Frank de Boer (112 caps), Edwin van der Sar (88) and Marc Overmars (85) are the trio.
Phillip Cocu was the only Dutch player to miss in their shoot-out against Sweden. It was his second penalty miss in a shoot-out at a major championship. He also missed against Brazil in the 1998 World Cup semi-final.
Phillip Cocu, Jaap Stam, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Edwin van der Sar have played in every minute of the Euro 2004 matches played by Holland.

The only country to win the European Championship after losing the first game, were Holland in 1988.

West Germany lost to the Dutch in 1988 (2-1), the Swedes lost to Germany in 1992 (3-2) whilst the last two host nations have gone out on penalties at this stage - England beaten by Germany (1996) and the Dutch losing to Italy (2000).
Both Portugal and Holland won their quarter-finals on penalties. No team has won two penalty shoot-outs at a European Championship finals - France and England are the only countries to be involved in two and both lost their 1996 semi-finals on penalties after winning their quarter-finals.
