Alessandro Del Piero is recovering faster than expected and could take on Milan next week. “I have been in full training with the squad for the last three days,” revealed the Juventus captain, “complete with exercises and games between ranks, but without pushing myself too hard.” The Italian international has been out of action for over a month, since tearing his left calf muscle during the 2-2 draw with Roma. “Taking part in the kickabouts with my teammates really boosts my confidence,” he continued. “But even though I am recovering well there is still strengthening work and pool exercise to be done in order to get the calf muscle back to full fitness.” Club doctors performed tests recently and predicted Del Piero’s comeback for the November 9 encounter with Udinese. However, it is reported that the clash with joint Serie A leaders Milan a week early is within his sights. “In any case,” concluded Alex, “getting back to full training is an important step and that means my comeback is on the horizon.”
