news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/4347236.stmFormer Celtic manager Martin O'Neill is still on the club's payroll five months after leaving his role at Celtic Park, BBC Scotland understands. He is being paid for what has been termed a "consultancy role", though current manager Gordon Strachan says he has not spoken to O'Neill since July. Celtic have refused to officially comment on the matter. The News of the World states that O'Neill's salary over two years is £500,000. Celtic are £19.5m in debt. O'Neill was credited with a significant role in identifying Strachan as his successor.
