Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has ruled himself out of the running for the Republic of Ireland job if Brian Kerr's contract is not renewed.
Kerr's contract with the Football Association of Ireland ended on Wednesday after the 0-0 draw with the Swiss ended their World Cup hopes.
"If I'm approached about the job in the future, I'd like to do it," O'Leary told the Sun newspaper.
"But there is plenty of club football left in me," he added.
O'Leary is the bookies favourite if Kerr is not given a new contract, ahead of Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane.
It has also been reported that former England manager Sir Bobby Robson, who is 72, is believed to be interested in the job.
The FAI is expected to make a decision over Kerr's future next Wednesday.
Kerr, who was appointed in January 2003, has indicated he will not resign.
