United striker Rob Hulse is looking to finish the season in positive style to give Leeds a boost ahead of the play-offs.
The defeat at Hull City has given the Whites a mountain to climb if they are to maintain automatic promotion hopes, and Hulse says that whilst they may have to accept they've missed out, they need to go into the play-offs as a side on form.
Jon Parkin's winner for the Tigers on Saturday stretched United's slump to five games without a win and that's the first statistic that needs to change.
"It was such a disappointing afternoon and very hard for us to stomach," said Rob, but we have to pick ourselves up and not be too down.
"If we have to go through the play-offs, we can't go into them feeling sorry for ourselves. We have got to have everyone together as a unit and it doesn't look good when you're not. We have to be upbeat.
"You never say never but mentally we have to plan for the play-offs, and just from a mental state of mind that's important.
"The most important thing is that we stay a unit and all stay together, which we are, we don't want to go pointing the finger. We've all worked hard at Hull, and created more chances than last week - we didn't create any against Stoke.
"It can still come good and we have still had a good season, it was disappointing for us today but that's the way it goes some days.
"We will look at the Hull video this week and see where we've gone wrong but there must be some positive points to take from it."
Leeds have now failed to score from open play in 430 minutes, another statistic that upsets the United hitman, but Hulse is confident that once more chances start being made, more goals will follow.
"The chances did come against Hull, they have fallen but we have missed the target on a few opportunities and that's the way it goes sometimes.
"We need a bit of luck and perhaps we need to work on creating a few more chances and getting bodies forward. We have done a bit more of that against Hull and improved on last week. We did take a lot of pressure from them and eventually they've taken one of their chances at the far post.
"But there's no point in pointing the finger at anyone, we are a team and we will do it all together. I see that as the only way of moving forward."
The aim now for the final few remaining games of the season is for the squad to be given a big morale boost with a strong finish.
"We can't go into those games feeling sorry for ourselves and the last thing we need is finger being pointed. We need to stick together, because we are a good team and that shows by where we are.
"Just carry on and it will come."
