news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/3802501.stmDamien Duff's shoulder injury will not prevent him returning to Chelsea's pre-season training on time. Reports had claimed the Chelsea midfielder could be out until October following surgery to his troublesome dislocated shoulder. But his representative Pat Devlin told BBC Sport: "He will be ready to report back for pre-season training. "It's obviously down to the medical staff to give him the green light for certain things but it's not that bad." Chelsea lost Duff twice last season with the shoulder injury, which eventually required under-pinning surgery. The injury prevented Duff making the sort of impression he wanted to at Stamford Bridge following his £7m move from Blackburn. Duff is keen to impress new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, while Republic of Ireland boss Brian Kerr is also watching the situation closely with World Cup qualifiers fast approaching. Devlin said: "He's had surgery, which went very well, and he's having a break now. "He's made tremendous progress and let's hope that can continue."
