news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/republic_of_ireland/3775221.stmJohn O'Shea has been forced to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland squad to face the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Saturday due to an ankle injury. The Manchester United defender has returned to Old Trafford for treatment on the problem, adding to Republic boss Brian Kerr's selection problems. He deliberately arranged games away from Dublin as he said the atmosphere there could be "a little bit cosy." "The players we are going with will find it a massive experience," he said. The Republic have played blooded several new players in recent friendlies against Romania, Nigeria and Jamaica, but Kerr said this game would be different. "The fact that it's the last match of our run of four in nine days means we don't have to worry about resting people", he said. "In each of the last few games we've had to think about the next match so it will be nice to pick a team in isolation rather than worrying about other games." BRILLIANT NEWS NOT
