news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/3759971.stmNeil Lennon wants reassurances from Martin O'Neill that he is staying as manager of Celtic before committing his own future to the Scottish champions. Recent press speculation has linked O'Neill with Liverpool and Tottenham. "Things will change if he does go but I'm keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't," said 32-year-old Lennon, who has a year of current deal to run. "We are in discussions about a contract but that will all be on hold until things are resolved with the manager." The strong indications are that O'Neill wants to stay at Celtic Park and take the club to the latter stages of the Champions League. O'Neill has targeted at least four new players to strengthen his squad and could become frustrated if the transfer funds are not made available by the Celtic board. He has lost the services of Henrik Larsson and Liam Miller this summer and wants quality newcomers to make an impact in Europe. "He (O'Neill) is his own man and he is always going to be linked with every big job that comes along because of his record," added Lennon. O'Neill has won three Premier League titles in his four years at Celtic, two Scottish Cups and one League Cup.
