news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/3550983.stmCeltic have begun work to replace their stadium's playing surface. It is hoped that the new pitch will be in place in time for the SPL visit of Hearts on 3 April. Director Peter Lawwell said: "For years Celtic Park has had one of the best playing surfaces in football and it is important to maintain this standard. "We had planned to carry out this work next season. However, due to number of factors, we felt it necessary to bring this work forward." The Celtic Park pitch came in for heavy criticism from Barcelona players after the recent Uefa Cup fourth-round, first-leg tie.
