Celtic boss Martin O'Neill could prevent on-loan David Fernandez playing for Livingston when the sides meet in the Scottish Cup semi-final. O'Neill blocked the Spanish striker facing Celtic recently in the league.
And Livi boss Davie Hay said: "We will ask Martin if David can play. Whatever he says, we will abide by that.
"He allowed him to play in the Scottish Cup, but I understood why he did not want him to play against them in the league. It will be his call."
Livingston booked their semi-final place with a 1-0 victory over Aberdeen in their replay at City Ground.
Now Celtic stand in the way of the CIS Cup winners and their second cup final of the season, leaving Fernandez with possible split loyalties. David would like to play," said Hay.
Livi midfielder Burton O'Brien, who scored the winner against the Dons, wants Fernandez to get his wish.
David is a big player for us and hopefully he will be available for us," he said.
