Fuck! and just as we had got Mick back at Landsdowne an all
Roy Keane has hinted he is ready to play a part in Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifying campaign, stating it is down to Brian Kerr whether he returns to the fold.
The Manchester United ace famously walked out his country prior to the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan after falling out with then boss Mick McCarthy over their pre-tournament preparations.
Despite choosing to call time on his Ireland career, the tough-tackling midfielder feels he has unfinished business at international level.
"I have always said I have missed international football - but then felt it was important to move on," explained Keane.
"But part of me has always said that I had unfinished business and it will always be that way.
"I don't think it would be as simple as me saying that I would come back to international football. It would be down to Brian Kerr - it's as simple as that really.
"It would probably be unfair on the players and Brian while it would also create a lot of media frenzy.
"It might upset some of the players so I don't believe that it's as simple as saying that I would be available for selection again."
Keane watched Republic's goalless draw with world champions Brazil on Wednesday, and was not only happy with the display but he felt they should have emerged victorious.
"I watched the game and we played very well and probably should have won," he added.
"It was a great team effort although Kevin Kilbane was excellent in midfield, especially when he pushed forward in attack.
"On another day Robbie Keane and Stephen Carr might have scored. Yes, they did very well."
