Celtic have announced the loss of up to 30 jobs on the non-footballing side of the club in a cost-cutting exercise. The Parkhead plc board want to improve efficiency across its business operations. But the savings from the redundancies are expected to be ploughed back into football department. A statement announced "a rationalisation programme as the club moves to improve efficiency and lower costs across its business operations". "The programme is expected to result in a limited number of redundancies, with some unprofitable operations likely to close," it added. "Celtic will enter into a consultative process with the employees concerned over the coming weeks. "The measures are expected to yield significant cost savings to the club."
