Not too sure about the cardie darlin
Five United stars brought a little bit of happiness to some poorly children on Thursday when they visited Martin House Hospice in Boston Spa.
The players, Eirik Bakke, Gary Kelly, Ian Harte, David Batty and Nick Barmby gave out goodie bags to thechildren and families there, and took time out to chat with the patients, staff and families and signed autographs for everyone.
The players were also moved by what they found at Martin House and the good work of the charity.
Stuart Andrew, Fundraising Manger of Martin House said: "The visit was a real boost for all the children who were delighted to meet the players - it really made their day.
"Such visits are great for morale here and we really appreciate the time the players took out of their busy schedules to be here."
Martin House, Yorkshire's first hospice for children and young people provides care and support, free of charge, to children and young people with a life-limiting condition, and their families. Martin House provides a home from home environment, offering help in emergencies, symptom control, nursing and practical care, terminal care and bereavement support. We also offer care and support to the families in their own home. They provide care for up to nine families in the main house and six young people in the teenage unit at any one time. Martin House supports children and their families from across the Yorkshire region.
Each year Martin House are set the enormous task of raising £2.9million to provide the level of care that so many families in our area have come to value.
It is only thanks to the support of the public that Martin House is able to continue to provide this much needed care and support and that is why they value every penny that is donated to them.
