Manchester United have announced that Celtic midfielder Liam Miller has signed a pre-contract with the Premiership champions. The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has signed a long-term deal with United which will see him arrive at Old Trafford on July 1. Miller, who was in the last year of his contract at Celtic, turned down a new deal at Parkhead and United have moved quickly to entice him to England. The player's agent Fintan Drury revealed to Skysports.com that all had been agreed the two parties for Miller to move to United. "Yes everything has been agreed between Liam and Manchester United," said Drury. The move is something of a coup for United as Miller is described as one of the best young players around having impressed in the UEFA Champions League this season. Miller was delighted to be joining one of his boyhood heroes. "As a young boy I only ever supported two clubs, Glasgow Celtic and Manchester United. I am honoured to have played for Celtic for six years and now I look forward to joining Manchester United," Miller told the club's official website. "It’s very exciting and is going to be a challenge to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world." United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been impressed by Miller this season. “We recognised the potential of Liam, he has had a great season at Celtic. He is very much part of our progressive thinking of developing a young team over the next few years," said Ferguson.
