Birmingham City are reportedly stepping up their interest in Celtic hot-shot Henrik Larsson. The Swedish striker is believed to be on Steve Bruce's hit-list, with the Blues boss keen to throw his hat into the ring as the former Feyenoord man's contract is due to expire in the summer. Larsson looks certain to quit Parkhead, with his agent Rob Jansen confirming a Premiership move is a possibility, and Bruce watched one of his top targets in action recently. Bhoys manager Martin O'Neill fears he could lose players in 2004, with clubs waiting to offer pre-contracts to his members of staff who will become Bosman free agents in June. Johan Mjallby has been targeted by Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic are said to be courting winger Steve Guppy. "I know Bolton have been mentioned and, on January 1, Johan is in a position to speak to other clubs, as are a number of my players," conceded O'Neill.
