The Football Association of Ireland say they have no plans to move their base, despite the hotel they are staying at in preparation for their friendly with Canada being held up by armed robbers. Players and officials were said to be in the complex when a number of armed men entered the hotel's reception area. It is being claimed that a shot was fired into the ceiling before the raiders made off with the contents of the safe. No one was injured and The FAI say they will not be moving from their base. "It did not affect us and we will continue to use the hotel," said Ireland coach Brian Kerr. "We are just happy no one was hurt. "The majority of them (players) were having dinner, so it did not affect them. "They were downstairs so it didn't really affect them, they heard a noise and a bit of a kerfuffle but nothing really. "We are very happy here in this hotel." The Irish team are staying at the Portmarnock Golf and Country Club in preparation for their friendly game against Canada at Lansdowne Road on Tuesday.
