The new Republic of Ireland way strip which was first worn during hte defeat to Switzerland in the final Euro2004 qualifier last month in Basel went on sale today, Thursday 13 November. The new Ireland change strip has a striking design using the traditional white body-colour with emerald and orange inserts. There are emerald mesh panels on the side of the jersey helping to aid the escape and evaporation of body heat where its needed most and the material itself is coated with Vapa-tech which will transport perspiration through the material onto the outside of the garment keeping players cool and dry. The shorts will be mainly emerald with a white and orange trim. Commenting on the new kit, Jonathan Courtenay, Marketing Manager at Umbro Ireland said; " We are delighted with the new kit and since Ireland are one of the are one of the biggest names in world football, we feel that the kit is worthy of both players and fans alike. The new went on sale at all leading sports retailers today and we are sure with the strong silhouette and design of the kit, which includes the tri-colour on both shirt and shorts that everyone will feel a strong and proud association to Ireland when they pull it on. Umbro are fully committed to football in Ireland, already sponsoring Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne and Derry City as well as being the official ball supplier to the Eircom League.
