news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4023755.stmThe final programme John Peel recorded for the BBC World Service before he died has been broadcast. Peel died last month at the age of 65 after suffering a heart attack while on holiday in Peru. Before leaving to go on holiday he recorded three music shows ready for transmission. Beginning with a tribute from Mark Coles, the final show featured music from Sweden, Germany, the US, and up-and-coming Liverpool band Ella Guru. Peel was BBC Radio 1's longest-serving DJ and in recent years had also presented Home Truths on Radio 4 - a whimsical look at family life. Club DJ Rob Da Bank is to host Peel's Radio 1 show for the "foreseeable future".
