United head coach John Carver has warned Sheffield United that Leeds are ready to profit from any slip-ups they make as the two teams chase automatic promotion.
Carver was speaking after Leeds 2-1 win over Leicester City held the Whites into third place in the Championship table, and he made it clear that the staff and players were not going to settle for the play-offs.
Ten points still separate the Blades and Leeds, but Leeds are the form side after four back to back wins and Carver is adamant they can keep their winning run going.
"We are now looking at those teams above us now and we are after one of those places," he said.
"Reading look like they are running away with it but Sheffield United beware because we are going for it now."
Carver saw plenty in the win over the Foxes to give Leeds credit for.
"We were delighted with the first 25 minutes of the game because it's some of the best football we'e played all season
"It was a terrific game, we had a chance, we hit the crossbar then they did and as an advert for the Championship the standard was very high, second half there was a bit of apprehension crept into our game.
"It was certainly a penalty for them when they got back into the game, it's a centre-forward's tackle from Hulsey and he's not used to making tackles like that in the box.
"In fairness to him he was back there and you cannot fault a player for putting his foot in, he's just mistimed it.
"But then again we showed a bit of relience though because at 1-1 they were back into it and on the front foot and we picked our game up again.
"We got the second goal but then unfortunately seemed to sit back again.
"They have good players and are a team in form at the moment, so we knew it would be tough. We are delighted with the result."
