United striker Rob Hulse is not too concerned about his recent goal 'drought' as long as Leeds continue winning.
The 26-year-old has now gone eight games without finding the net, which contrasts markedly his record of eight goals in the first eleven games of the season. For a man who confessed on TV recently that scoring was better than sex, he could be forgiven for being slightly concerned but there are no such signs from the hitman.
The former West Brom ace's contribution in other areas though cannot be over-looked, having set up a number of goals for strike partners David Healy and Robbie Blake and then there is his ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play.
He drew another blank against Millwall but was delighted to see David Healy step up and deliver the goods with his winning goal.
"We had a bit of lady luck against us when we hit the post twice, but apart from that we've done everything right on the day," he said.
"We've had to battle at times and we played some good football, but things are not going to work for you all the time, but we've shown we have the character in this team and that's why we stuck at it.
"One thing we do have at this club is a lot of big characters in the team, and when someone is having an off day someone else will step up and pull us through.
"I'm pleased for David that he scored again, he and Robbie have been in good form these past few weeks, and that's helped us massively.
"I didn't score this week but it all swings in roundabouts, I might get the goals next week, the main thing is they're coming from lots of sources throughout the team and we're winning."
Hulse played on Saturday despite suffering from a stomach problem picked up in training. He has gone for further tests on the problem this week but was confident it was only a minor problem.
"I've got a bit of a hip - stomach problem with a query about a bit of a hernia, it was fine first half and then tightened up a bit later.
"The medical staff assured me it wasn't going to be a problem and that was all I needed to know to play."
