news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/3740098.stmThe Beatles' first four US albums for Capitol Records are to be released on CD for the first time, a report says. They are Meet the Beatles, The Beatles' Second Album, Something New and Beatles '65, all originally released in 1964, the Hollywood Reporter said. Only the mono British versions have been available on CD since their music was issued on the format in 1987. The box set, Capitol Albums Vol 1, will be available in the US for $70 (£39) from 16 November. The four early albums include hits like I Want to Hold Your Hand, She Loves You and I Feel Fine. "It's been a personal quest for me over the last three years to get these records released because this is the way I remember them, the way I first heard them," Capitol Records president Andy Slater told the Hollywood trade magazine. US albums were often in stereo and had different running orders from their British releases.
