www.leedsunited.com/article.asp?article=322032&blnFeedback=&Title=New+Deal+For+Killa&navlid=newsroomUnited defender Matthew Kilgallon has agreed a new two and a half-year contract extension at Elland Road. Kilgallon's contract was up at the end of the season but manager Kevin Blackwell made it one of his priorities to tie the 21-year-old down to a new deal. Blackwell said: "We are trying to keep our best young players here to build for the future and we are delighted Matthew wants to be part of that future. "We have not seen the best of Matthew yet so the next few years should be very exciting for him and the club." Kilgallon made his debut against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the UEFA Cup in 2002, but has had to wait until this season to start to establish himself. The York born defender has played in over 50 games for the Whites, and enjoyed a brief loan spell at West Ham in the 2003/4 season. Kilgallon told http://www.stellargroup.co.uk: "I am thrilled to have signed a new contract. I grew up at this club and obviously feel very strongly about what has happened in the past few years and what the fans have been through. "Everyone here is determined to restore the club to its rightful place in the Premier League and we are all working hard to make that happen."
