www.leedsunited.com/article.asp?article=319364&blnFeedback=&Title=Rob%27s+A+Real+Hero&navlid=newsroomUnited manager Kevin Blackwell has revealed that striker Rob Hulse has been putting himself above and beyond the call of duty in recent games. The 26-year-old forward is still suffering with an ankle ligament problem that plagued him in pre-season but is playing through the pain barrier for the club. The former West Brom ace missed a good chance against Sheffield United but Blackwell was in a forgiving mood, especially as he recognises the sacrifice the striker is making. "Sometimes Rob knocks them in sometimes he doesn't," said Blackwell on Hulse's first half header that went wide, "but I'll not complain about Rob Hulse because he's a hero for me. "The kid ran his socks off again and he can't train, he just plays but he put a big shift in. "Every time he gets tackled I fear for him because he's been going through a bit of discomfort recently. Obviously it's not an ideal situation but we need him to do a stint for us. "You know with Rob that as long as he's on the pitch he will run his heart out for you and that's why he's so important to us." Hulse has scored eight goals for United in the league this season, including five in the last five games, to move him up to second in the Championship goalscorers list, just one goal behind Wolves' Carl Cort.
