news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2004/equestrian/3593648.stmBritain's Nick Skelton and Arko III produced a stunning clear round in final qualifying to book their place in Friday's individual show jumping final. The pair had accrued six penalty points from their two earlier rounds on Tuesday but a faultless last round saw them climb from 13th to fourth spot. GB's other representative Robert Smith, on Mr Springfield, also progressed, ending in 33rd place on 21 penalties. A total 45 riders will contest the final and the slate is now wiped clean. "It is a fantastic performance to have two through to the final," said British show jumping leader Will Connell. "Nick's final round was just amazing but for both Nick and Rob it's a great achievement. "Both have two fantastic horses that are capable of doing well in the final and if Nick's horse continues in this kind of form, well who knows what might happen. "But there are a lot of strong horses and riders out there and there is no doubt it will be very difficult, but we are delighted with our position right now."
